An ACC spokesperson today confirmed that ACC had refused to pay compensation to the family of a man killed while peeing on a powerline.
The ACC spokesperson stated that the man had a pre-existing condition.
"His incontinence meant he pee'd wherever he wanted to and was the primary factor in his unfortunate demise."

Being caught out with a wet willy costs most men.
Mrs T Woods is crying all the way to the bank...
Tiger has obviously lost millions of dollars in the past few months from lost sponsorship and appearance fee's let alone the chunk of fortune that Mr's Woods will undoubtedly walk away with.
And now TV is touting the fact that Mr wood's is about to apologise.
The sad fact of the matter is that Tiger is only human and obviously fell prey to temptation.
DILIGAF! (Does it look like I give a F..k!)

"An internet page inciting hatred against Burnside High School's new principal has been removed by the pupil who created it.
The year 12 boy created a group on social-networking site Facebook called "I hate Burnside's new principal!!!" that attracted threatening and defamatory comments about principal Warwick Maguire.
The comments prompted a police investigation." Stuff
It's just a shame that the ACC daren't complain or try to shut down sites like this that expose corruption and exploitation within the ACC system.
ACC's chief executive is charged by statute to maintain ACC's good name yet Dr Jan White dare not act because claimants posting on this site have documented proof of the corruption, lies, deceit and fraudulent practices of her staff.
I hate ACC!

"There are 800,000 Kiwis classified as obese and, even if you discount the All Blacks' front row, whose BMIs would technically place them in that category, that means a lot of misery, a lot of health problems and a whole lot of money being gobbled up by the health budget.
Heart disease, diabetes, strokes, cancer, arthritis and breathing problems are just some of the issues associated with obesity.
When it comes to calculating the cost of obesity-related illness, we don't have any up-to-date figures but the World Health Organisation estimates the cost to be 7 per cent of a country's health budget." Kerre Woodham

Well a psychologist asked me why I didn't pay for my own rehabiltation!
My answer was simple enough.. If ACC won't pay for it and won't reimburse me for it if I'm successful.. WTF should I pay..
Under current legislation I am responsible for my own rehabilitation. If ACC isn't prepared to fund rehabiltation why should I? after all I'm injured and only receiving 80% of my pre-accident earnings.
Feeding the Family and paying the mortgage doesn't leave a lot extra for rehabilitation.. Actually less now that there is a surcharge for visits to the physio and ACC are looking to push me off their books for "non compliance" simply because I can't afford the physio surcharge..
Still its hard enough finding a vocational consultant who is sensitive to my cultural heritage.
Not many of them accept that I come a long line of Welsh robber barons and that gratutious violence, mayhem and pillaging are an honoured heritage.

"A spokesman for ACC Minister Nick Smith said the minister was "cross" about the blunder.
"He's annoyed ACC has made the mistake, particularly as it affects people's lives.
"ACC needs to get its systems in order to make sure it doesn't happen again."
Dr Smith announced two weeks ago that 70 jobs would be axed from ACC as part of a restructuring that will affect 180 people."

Well so much for a good bash last weekend celebrating my mates 45'th.
An aquaintance and his 12 yr old daughter from Cambridge were on their way down to stay over and help celebrate this occasion but were taken out by a dumb tin top driver at Himitangi.
This dumb arse drove through the stop sign onto state highway one then stopped in the outside passing lane!
Not much chance of avoiding a stupid fuckwit like that when you are on a motorcycle is there!
I am happy to report however that the rider is now out of ICU and his daughter's operation to reattach her heel was successful.
Both are now on their way back to Waikato Hospital.
Cost to ACC and the Tax payer of many thousands of dollars.

On ACC - the political claims and the reality.
Brian Edwards Blog on the subject make fascinating reading.
"Oram assumes that some of these factors (he implies most of them) will resolve themselves. His reasoning is suspect - simply because the rate of increase in liabilities has been fairly constant over the past three years. This implies a deep-seated structural problem. 2005-6, for instance, was a boom year in which investments made massive gains, and yet ACC still increased its liabilities by $2.6 billion. Is Oram truly trying to suggest that these were merely accounting adjustments? In that case, we may as well ignore all ACC accounting reports because they are utterly meaningless."

"Twenty other like-minded Triumph riders and I set out from Auckland for a relaxed ride to Whangamata for lunch," writes Dave. "On SH25A in the morning and again on SH25 in the afternoon we were stopped at police checkpoints and pulled off the road to be breathalysed and have our driving licences, registrations and warrants checked. We were also lectured on road safety by the ACC, and advised that we should all be wearing reflective vests while riding. Apparently twin headlights that cannot be switched off are not visible enough on their own. Ironic then that the only near miss on the whole trip came on Whitford Rd coming back into Auckland when I was almost sideswiped by a police highway patrol car - the driver not checking the lane was clear before pulling out to overtake. (A prolonged blast on twin air horns and a grab of the brakes averted tragedy.) Perhaps the police force's time and resources could have been better spent training their own members to drive better. To be fair though, she did stop to apologise." Sideswipe

A Whangarei clinical psychologist will have no action taken against him by his professional body after his third drink-driving conviction.
The Psychologists Board investigated Garry Huingahau McFarlane-Nathan, a clinical psychologist who works for ACC treating head-injury patients, after he was convicted in Whangarei District Court in February.
Mr McFarlane-Nathan was stopped on State Highway 1 at Ruakaka in January after a motorist complained about his driving. He later admitted to driving with excess breath alcohol.
Mr McFarlane-Nathan had 525mcg of alcohol per litre of breath. The legal limit is 400mcg. He was sentenced to 250 hours' community work, lost his driving licence for 12 months and a final warning was placed on his file.
Board chairwoman Lois Surgenor said its professional complaints committee decided the convictions did not bring discredit to the profession or affect Mr McFarlane-Nathan's ability to practise.
She said the committee did not believe any discredit had reached the threshold for any further action to be taken, and was satisfied Mr McFarlane-Nathan had put appropriate mechanisms in place to deal with the issue.
