Good article. The way its pointed out the way to get a blog out there. Great. Ive been trying to get a blog started regarding the recent ‘kicked off weekly compensation entitlements’ that have have happened en masse since the Monday after the elections.

What is the point of ACC anymore. they cannot ‘prevent’, they dont ‘care’, and ‘recovery’ is non-existant under their ‘regime’. However, the ACC employess do reap all the benefits. I see ACC as a taxpayer funded bureaucrat employment agency. The corruption has become sooo deepset, that it has lost sight of its original purpose – which is to help the victims/survivors of crime and work injury. Even the ACC Medical Review team seem to have discarded the Hypocratic Oath, in persuit of Designer reports by their Designer specialists.

ACC is supposed to be there to help you, by paying you 80% of your former income, while they assist you with rehabilitation – so that you dont have to take on the stigma of ‘beneficiary’, and lose everything youve worked for so far.

I was reading yesterday's article about an ACC claimant asking for help with vet bills and her very true & profound comment.

"I just spent $1000 which I haven't got ... it's a lot of money for someone who lives on ACC,"

A sad fact fact but true in that every claimant on reduced income must fund their own legal challenges. Some may have the advantage in that they qualify for legal aid.

I look at tomcats case over the last 20 years and wonder just how much it has cost him in time and money to obtain his lawfull entitlements.

The best thing about ACC is - NOT having to deal with them.

This year has been really great because I did not have anything to do with those corrupt and dishonest bastards that work for ACC and call themselves managers. I have not met one within ACC called a manager who could manage their way out of a paper bag.

Being kicked off ACC income support ( illegally ) by my case manager Michelle Barr of Northwood branch was actually the best thing that ever happened to me.

ACC has been micro-managed by successive Governments. I hope that the Hon Judith Collins will be able to make the changes that will bring ACC to its 'grass-roots" of helping and not hindering folkwho have been injured.

The Dr Jan White CEO years of Corporation Change Destruction must be abandoned by the new ACC CEO - who appears to have very little "backbone"!

White's legacy is a dis-functional ACC filled with corporate YES men and woman who are so "black and white" in their outlook that any other other is not allowed, especially grey. The ACC staffers with think skills and client focused methodology have been replaced at all areas of management by staff who want to save money at all costs.

I am a kiwi male that has worked hard for over 35 years built a successful business have paid my bills, taxes ,gst ,and like many are now being shafted by acc after sustaining a permanently life threatening injury at work.things were not good from the start but they did cover my medical bills and treatments up to a point.

I was forced to re-enter the workforce  as the financial burden was great and the cover was minimal at best and not covering my bills and living expenses.

when given the option to leave acc and get private health cover I took this option and opted out of the acc system as I was not happy to pay for a service I did not get as most people would have.

ACC are forever touting that "you have rights" on just about every communication you get from them. But in reality you have NO rights - unless it suits them.

When they abuse your rights and you complain about it - they simply ignore your complaints altogether. This operational policy  extends right up to the minister - Nick Smith - who ignores you too when you complain to him. And when you complain to ACC that they are ignoring your complaints or your rights - they simply "dis-entitle" you and leave you to rot without help.

No wonder ACC treat people the way they do when their disgustingly low standards come from the top and just filter down to the lowest of the low - the case manager.

The New Zealand Herald reported today that, New Zealand Oil and Gas has been hit with almost $100 million in losses and provisions from its stake in Pike River Coal but is confident it could recover half that when the mine is sold.

NZOG has a 29.4 per cent stake in the Pike River mine, which exploded in November last year, killing 29 workers.
